Säter's Stadshotell is Säter's oldest preserved building, and a real city hotel. History: The first owner of the plot the house stands on was the former Mayor "Salig Wellan Silentz". He was the son of the German coppersmith Govert Silentz who came to Säter in the 1620s to set up the first copper refineries, and later the mint. The building was built as a residence for the foremen in the copper cabins.
The hotel today has 28 rooms, a conference room, a sauna, restaurants and an outdoor terrace that is open during the summer. The house has been carefully renovated over the years to keep the soul of the house. Inside, you can really feel the history of the house as the ceiling painting in Restaurang Myntmästaren is from the 19th century. Sauna is in the basement.
