Falkudden Camping, Cafe och Stugby
Camping | Falkudden Camping & Stugby is situated in an area of considerable natural beauty on the shore of Lake By, a bay of the Dalälven river. The camping pitches and cottages are all a stone's throw from the bathing area which has a sandy beach.
Activities and tourist attractions:
There are marvellous opportunities for fishing in both the lake or nearby rivers and the camping site is, together with Neda, listed in Top 10 Fishing Sweden. Sale of fishing licenses for the Tyttbo and By fishing area. The water is perfect for canoeing and you can hire a kayak or a canoe and set off and explore. The natural setting means that there are marvellous opportunities for hiking, picking berries and mushrooms, not to mention simply enjoying the peace and tranquillity of the forest.
The location in the heart of unspoilt countryside means that Falkudden can cater for a whole variety of different interests. Local attractions include The Färnebofjärden national park, rapids fishing in Tyttbo and beautiful places such as Gysinge Bruk, the town's old farmstead museums, coin museum and the Carl Jularbo museum in Avesta. All of these are only a short drive away.
At the folk museum there is a traditional Swedish celebration on Midsummer Eve which includes a party for the whole family during the day and dancing in the evening.
There is also an annual local celebration in the village, known as Slånkvicku. It's great fun for all the family with all sorts of different activities and performances. There are also a variety of different local markets during the summer.
