STF Älvdalen Tre Björnar Hostel

Bed & Breakfast | Stay in a beautiful old building dating from 1916. The homely STF Älvdalen Tre Björnar hostel is in the outskirts of Älvdalen, with the town centre and magnificent natural surroundings close by. Here you can find long skiing trails, mushroom-laden forests, great places for swimming and our wood-fire sauna waiting for you.

In Älvdalen you find magnificent nature, high mountains, pouring streams, clean lakes, nice hike trails. If you translate the words Älvdalen and Dalarna it means River Valley and the Valley, you will understand why.
 
Accommodation
Tre Björnar was built 1916. Here you stay in a homely house with different fireplaces, wallpapers with flowers, a mixture of old and new furniture. The hostel have 10 rooms with 2-6 beds. There are basins in most of the rooms and you share toilet and shower with the other guests. There is one room with separate toilet. In a house out in the garden you find a sauna, just let hostel know and they will heat it up for you.
 
The hostel serve breakfast including ecologic coffee/tea, homemade bread, farm eggs, local ham and sausage, home cooked jam etc.
 
To see and do
In the winter, the area can offer skiing, both cross country and downhill. Drive snowmobile in prepared trails. Sit under a sheepskin and listen to the jingle bells when the wonderful horse Julle pulls the sleigh. In the summer, you can hire a canoe and paddle down the calm river. Bikes of a simpler model can be hired for those who want to discover the surroundings or take a trip to a farmyard.

On request the hostel can organize guided tours of the area.
