Description

Start and end location: Grövelsjön at Sjöstugan.

Length: 7 km, circular loop.

Elevation gain: 150 meters.

Trail markings: Yes.

Time: Approximately 2 hours.

Severity: Easy hike on a large path.

Environment: You hike through mountain forest and a short distance on the bare mountain.

Description: The tour is described here clockwise, but can also be walked counter-clockwise. From the southern end of Grövelsjön at Sjöstugan, the trail goes to the left over a suspension bridge that takes you over the river Grövlan. Then follow the signs towards Silverfallet. At the tree line, the trail splits where you can choose to go towards Olån's wind shelter, clockwise or turn right and go round counter-clockwise. You are now walking above the tree line, but just before Olån's wind shelter, the trail turns back into the forest. The section up to the windbreak is stony. At the wind shelter there is a barbecue area and an outdoor terrace. Then continue upwards towards Silverfallet. At the small but very beautiful fall there are several nice places for a break. The round trip then continues along the path up towards the Norwegian border and reindeer fences before it turns down along easy-hiking paths and spans to the suspension bridge at Sjöstugan.
