Description

Ludvika Gammelgård is an outdoor museum and is available for visits on your own, day year around.

The Homestead
Several homestead houses are open for visit during the summer season. The house "Öbergska gården" has fascinating interior decorations, and there are also historical outbuildings.

Ludvika Mining museum
The museum has a wide collection of drilling machines, loading machines, wagons and engines for underground transport. The largest building in the museum houses the ore dressing plant and equipment. There is also an exhibition of iron and steelworks and the technology used.

During summer season you can also enjoy a lovely herb garden with old-fashioned perennials, herbs and unique local cultivated plants. Sheep, hens and rabbits in the area. Relax for a while with a cup of coffee in the cafeteria.

Serveral of the homestead houses and mine exihibiton are open for visit during the summer. Every Saturday during summer season an large flea market is arranged outside the Homestead area.
