Description

Starting Point: Follow the signs towards Stadssjön and angle park by the row of birch trees. Then walk or roll along the road around the old landfill and you will reach Stadssjön.

Length: 3.3 km, loop trail.

Trail Marking: Signposted.

Difficulty Level: Easy. Boardwalks and wide gravel paths.

Along the hiking trail, you can walk or roll straight through Hedemora's wetlands, experience rainforest-like deciduous swamp forests, and gaze out over the open coastal meadows maintained by cows and water buffalo. From the three observation towers, you can view the beautiful landscape. If you're lucky, you might see a sea eagle gliding by, or hear the rosefinch and nightingale sing. In spring and fall, the reserve is visited by large numbers of resting birds.

Via the hiking trail and the approximately 300 m long boardwalk, you can explore the Stadssjön nature reserve. Whether you walk, run, roll in a wheelchair, lie in a stroller, or use a walker, you have the same opportunity to explore the area. At one of the resting places, you can sit down to enjoy your snack.
Stadssjön is an outdoor area for both exercise and relaxation.
If you also want to visit the adjacent nature reserve Lilla älvgången, which is also accessibility-adapted, you just need to cross the bridge.

Visit Dalarna is not responsible for the trail or its maintenance. Keep in mind that the trails are affected by the season and weather, so please check the conditions before you set out on your hike.
