Mysigt i Ryssa

A quiet place!
"We came to Mora by bus. Frederic drove us 12 km to Ryssa and Lena took us back to Mora on the last day. We were offered bicycles for free an used them every day. There is a bus stop just next to the house (Bus 323), but as there are only few busses to Mora and we preferred to use bikes. From Ryssa it is only 6 km to Gesunda, from top of Gesundaberget (520m hill) you have a beautiful view at Lake Siljan (160m). There is also a restaurant and you can rent mountain bikes plus equipment (not that cheap!). If you don't want to climb the hill there is a chair lift (sometimes not operating!). At the Island Sollerön you can see Viking graves and you get some information about that time. If you come at Midsummer time you can watch and take part in the midsommar-ceremony and festivities (weekend after 21st of June) even just opposite the house! From the house you can take a nice walk down to Siljan - even when it is maybe too cold for swimming... Although BromanGard B/B is close to the road - there is very little traffic and you can sleep with windows open. Anyway, what makes the place worth a visit is not only the beautiful landscape, nice and friendly Lena and Frederic. What I enjoyed most is the quiet place, clean air and clear light especially in the long evenings (best conditions to make good photos) Important: Ryssa is a small village. There are no shops (except Lenas Ateljecafe), no bank, no petrol station, no doctor, no restaurant, no church, "no nothing" - it's just a very peaceful place! - and make sure you don't miss the Anders Zorn Museum and House (Gammelgård)!
