Agnmyren on Sollerön

Agnmyren is located on Sollerön island and the place is known for the frog spawning that takes place here every year. The best time to visit this nature reserve is of course in the spring when the frogs are playing.

Through Agnmyren nature reserve you'll find a cultural trail, which is a pleasant hike of 3.2 km with interesting information about Sollerön's history. In the reserve, about 200 meters of the hiking trail is on gravel to facilitate accessibility. Feel free to bring a packed lunch and sit down at the bench tables. See the frogs in April-May Agnmyren is a small pond, known in the Siljan area as one of the largest spawning grounds for "vanlig groda" (common frog). The species is not only ordinary, but is really called "common frog". At the turn of the month of April to May, thousands of specimens of the frogs gather in the pond for mating. Parking If you use a walker or wheelchair, it is possible to park in a small parking lot at the reserve. Other guests are referred to the parking lot at Hembygdsgården or the marina located at the end of Bengtarvsvägen. Please note that during the frogs' mating period, the last part of the roads is closed off because the risk of running over the frogs is very high.
