Start and end point: Ängsgatan 14 in Ludvika. Length: 2.6 km, loop. Trail marking: Orange markers along the trail. Difficulty level: Easy, mostly flat with a small ascent in the forest area. Surface: Trod path in the forest area and wider footpath in the flatter areas. Environment: The hiking trail goes around Marnästjärnen in Ludvika. Marnästjärn is a bird lake and was once one of Dalarna's finest bird lakes. There are several barbecue spots, shelters, and benches to rest or simply relax and listen to the birdlife. The loop consists of a trodden path with boardwalks over ditches and the small brook ravine with beautiful deciduous arches. Parts of the trail are wheelchair accessible, such as the adapted bird-watching platform where you can sit, spot birds, enjoy a cup of coffee, and appreciate the birdlife.
