Storhällaleden 4 km

Walk through a varied forest area near Flosjön into the Storhälla Nature Reserve. Sit on the rock by the lake and enjoy the view and tranquility.

Starting Point: The trail starts just a few hundred meters from the bus stop outside ICA in the middle of Dala-Floda. See directions. Length: 4 km, loop. Trail Markings: Orange rings painted on trees and poles. Time Required: About 1 hour. Difficulty: Easy to moderate, with some rocky sections and narrow paths. Environment: The Storhällaleden trail extends from central Dala-Floda through a diverse forest area next to Flosjön into the Storhälla nature reserve. Along the trail, you can discover the forest with old trees, rare wood fungi, and traces of historical land use. Once you reach the reserve, you can sit on the rock by the lake, enjoying the view and tranquility. Boardwalks are laid out where it might be wet. Facilities: Proximity to grocery stores, fuel, restaurant and cafe in Dala-Floda. Parking: Parking is available by Flosjön lake, at Ica, and by the church. Charging stations are available at Ica. Public Transport: You can take a bus to Dala-Floda and have a short walk to the start of the trail. See Dalatrafiken. There is a restaurant at the Inn right next to the trail called Byns skafferi. Flokullornas restaurant is located at Ica. Across Sweden's longest wooden bridge and another hundred meters to the left is the cozy café Hjort-Olars. The inn offers B&B accommodations.
