Tuvatorp

An artist's home inhabited by the artists Margit Rahm-Dalne and Herman Dalne.

Viewing takes place annually during Grangärdebygden's week, Art in All Saints' weekend and during Dan Andersson's week. The home is managed by a foundation and can otherwise be shown by agreement. Tuvatorp is an original artist's home that was donated to the area by the artists Margit Rahn and Herman Dalne. The Tuvatorp artists' home was built in the 1950s by the couple Rahm Dalne, Herman and Margit. The oldest house on the farm is an old cinder block house from the 1850s. Margit Rahm was one of Dalarna's most skilled artists during her lifetime. For example, she often attended Liljevalch's spring salon. Statens konstråd (Public Art Agency Sweden) ensured that she was represented in government agencies and regional buildings. She also received state support for artists, something that few people were able to receive. Herman Dalne was also artistically gifted and is known in Dalarna for his abstract paintings with wax chalk. Herman was also a skilled fiddler and composed some of his own tunes. The artist's home is original and can be compared to a museum with furniture from older times.
