Våmhus basket maker

Basket making is a very old craft that has existed in Våmhus since the end of the 18th century. At that time, poverty was severe in Våmhus and people tried every way they could to find sources of income. From there, this craft was born - baskets that could be sold both in Sweden and abroad.

The basket is woven from hand-split pine shavings. Våmhus basket makers' association works to ensure that the art of making baskets in the traditional way lives on.
