Around Alviken 7 km

Here you hike through varied landscape where the trail goes close to Lake Alviken. Also included is a boat trip.

Start and end location: At Siljansnäs rowing club's clubhouse or next to Storön. See link. Length: 7 km, circular loop. Trail markings: Yes. Time: About 2 hours. Severity: Means. Along some stretches you walk on footbridges and when it is raining the footbridge is slippery. Environment: A hiking trail through varied landscape with forest, meadows and alder marshes as well as with a rich bird and animal life. Part of the trail is rowed in a borrowed boat, one is located at the marina at Siljansnäs Rowing Club's clubhouse and one is on the other side of the water on Storön. Information boards are located along the trail. Public transport: See Dalatrafiken. Stops Leksand and Siljansnäs. Description: A waterfront trail that runs both on paths and gravel roads. There are several rest areas along the way and several places where you can swim. NB! At the boat crossing, you must make sure that there is always a boat on each side. Row over and pick up the boat that is on the other shore. Towing it back and leaving it in the same place you came from, then row over again.
