Experience two children's tours that take you on a journey through World Heritage Falun! The tours start at Dalarnas Museum, and you can choose to walk "The Fine Side" in town or "The Mine Side" to the mine and back.
Maps for the tours are available at Dalarnas Museum, or you can join digitally by downloading the "Visit Dalarna Travel Guide" app and accepting the mission "The Mine Side" or "The Fine Side". Scan the QR codes along the way and explore the World Heritage!
There are places that are so important that they should be preserved for future generations. They are listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites. All around the world, there are different world heritage sites - the pyramids of Egypt and the Great Wall of China are some examples. Falun is a World Heritage site, and we can be very proud of that. Falun Mine, the city of Falun, and parts of the mining district together form World Heritage Falun.
On your way up to Falun Mine, you'll be accompanied by Uven, a wise bird who knows almost everything.
Uven: "Did you know that I am the animal symbol of Dalarna?"
"Hello! My name is Brita, and that over there is Erik. We live at Elsborg with our family. It's a neighborhood where the miners live. We lived there a long, long time ago. In the past, simply put. Back then, Falun Mine was a big and important workplace. Dad works underground as a miner, and Mom has just had a new baby. Now we are seven siblings in our family. Do you have any siblings? Would you like to join us for one or two rounds? There's so much to discover here."
This city tour is funded by Tillväxtverket.
