A hiking trail for the whole family. In the summer, from mid-June to the end of August, you can take the lift up at Gustavtorget in Lindvallen and hike a short and easy trail to Stensjön. At other times you can walk up the hill, Gustavsbacken.
Start and end location: The top cabin Snögubben in Lindvallen or down by the hill.
Length: 3 km, back and forth.
Trail markings: Red crosses.
Severity: Easy and flat terrain. Steep if you go up Gustavsbacken.
Foundation: Footbridges and gravel path.
Description: An easy hike that the whole family can join. You can walk or take the Gustav express lift (open summer season) up to Gustavbacken. The trail starts at the summit hut and runs along the ridge of Hemfjället. At Stensjön you can have coffee or grill sausages and of course you have to put a stone on one of the many rock formations that are found by the lake. The hike is about 1.5 kilometers long. If you want to continue, there is now a brand new trail with three footbridges in width all the way down to Hemfjällstugan. Perfect for both cycling and hiking.
Map of the trail can be found in the link below.
Visit Dalarna is not responsible for the trail or its maintenance. Keep in mind that the trails are affected by the season and weather, so please check the conditions before you set out on your hike.
