Floda kyrka

The church is built next to Västerdalälven's north bank and east of the river Noret, which connects Västerdalälven with Flosjön. The place was early on an important road junction with connections across the waterways and these conditions early on promoted the development of villages and settlements.

Outside the church is a suspension bridge, built in 1922 as a replacement for an earlier floating bridge that was swept away six years earlier. The oldest parts of the church can be traced to the beginning of the 13th century. The wooden baptismal font dates from the 17th century. In the 1880s, the church underwent modernization. At the same time, the color scheme of the fixed furnishings changed. In 1932, a remodeling was carried out, under the direction of architect Ärland Noréen, with the aim of removing or suppressing additions from the 19th century and instead recreating the character of the 18th century.
