The homestead in Malung is a very interesting and nice place with many buildings worth seeing, the oldest are from the 1500s. Interesting collections of objects and exhibitions about, among other things, the leather industry.
Malung Local History Society was founded in 1919 and three years later the association received land from Malung Municipality and Kopparbergs Bergslags AB to build the farm on. The facility was inaugurated in 1932 and has gradually been expanded with land and buildings, which are characteristic of the area.
The homestead wants to show what a large farm in the parish could look like in the 1700s and 1800s, but there are also older buildings here, including Olaloftet, a double herb from the 1600s and Härlarsloftet, which is dated to 1580-1590.
Several of the buildings have interesting, well-preserved interiors with unique objects and paintings. A leather and shoemaking exhibition as well as a large textile collection can be seen.
