The Skräddartorp case

Outside Smedjebacken you will find Hedströmmen's most impressive waterfall and is part of Malingsbo-Kloten's scenic outdoor recreation area. Skräddartorpsfallet does not resemble a waterfall, but instead gives a striking impression of wild rapids in beautiful nature.

Skräddartorpsfallet, with its impressive 32 metre drop and surrounding river, is the most magnificent waterfall along Hedströmmen. In its vicinity there are excellent picnic areas with shelter from the elements, perfect for a moment's rest. Visitors can enjoy two barbecue areas and a shelter. In addition, hiking trails wind through the landscape, including a 2 km path that leads to Lake Lumsen, where a rest hut with sleeping places is available. Skräddartorpsfallet used to play a central role in timber floating and was an important rafting route until 1953.
