Öje is a small village 17 km northeast of Malung, along road E45 towards Mora. Plowed tracks start from Öje Bad and Camping, signposted from E45. Here, skaters are welcomed to the plowed tracks that start from Öje Bad and Camping.
If ice conditions permit, you can skate all the way to Hånäset, approximately 12 km south. The ice tracks are cleared voluntarily by Öje IF.
Öjesjön Tracks
Öjesjön, the municipality's gem at the outlet of the Ogströmmen with 94 beautiful islands, is surrounded by high mountains in all directions, and on many islands, you can land and rest. There is a beautiful sandy beach at Vitensand in the south. The fantastic nature around the lake boasts great biodiversity.
Öje Winter Arena, Bysjön, 2 km.
Starts from Öjes Bad och Camping. This 2 km loop is prioritized and cleared before the other tracks. A warm tent with wood is available at the starting point as well as a restroom.
Öje Winter Arena, Vitensand, 7 km.
In continuation of Bysjön's 2 km loop, the skating track extends south towards the lovely rest area at Vitensand.
Öje Winter Arena, Hånäset, 12 km.
If the entire stretch to Hånäset can be cleared, the ice track will be 12 km one way.
Depending on weather and snow conditions, ice tracks are cleared in different directions.
At the starting point, there is a larger tent with a fireplace and wood. Outdoors, there is also a large grill and 40 kicksleds available for free loan. There are also two heated restrooms, including an accessible restroom.
Ski trails are laid on the ice when conditions permit. Length is approximately 6 km.

In Öje Centrum, there is a pleasant and cozy hostel, Öje Turistgård, with 11 rooms and 35 beds, beautifully located by the Ogströmmen.
