Konnsjöleden 4 kilometers

Trail between Konnsjön and Bensåsen, right in the border area between Avesta and Hedemora municipalities.

Starting Point: As it is a trail that loops back to the starting point, there are several places to start and exit the trail. Konnsjön, Bensåsen, or at Krokbäcksvägen. Length: 4 kilometers, loop trail. Trail Marking: Marked with orange on trees and poles. Additionally, there are signs showing the way and some informational signs. The trail goes into the forest and the surface is a path. Difficulty Level: Easy. Parking: At Krokbäcksvägen, Konnsjön, and Bensåsen. See map via link. Trail Description: After a few kilometers of hiking, you will reach the popular destination Erkers-Fars mine or Morfars mine, an approximately 80 meters long mine shaft you can enter. Remember to wear good shoes and preferably bring a flashlight. At the mine, there is also a rest area with a shelter and a barbecue area, next to the small tarn Kamhavet. The Konnsjö Trail continues from the village in a circular loop up the mountain to the Bensås mine and the village of Bensåsen. Bensåsen was inhabited by Finns in the early 1600s. Here, the trail turns back towards Konnsjön. There is also a shorter trail next to Lilla Konnsjön. For those who wish to hike further, it is possible to connect to the Bensås Trail which continues towards Garpenberg. Administrator: Garpenbergs local heritage association.
