With its span of 158 m, it is the longest wooden suspension bridge in Sweden.
The bridge was built in 1922 and replaced the previous floating bridge that was destroyed by flood in 1916. The bridge collapsed during a fire in 1980, but was rebuilt and consecrated by King and Queen of May 18, 1983.
