Säterdalens nature reserve 6 km

In Säterdalen there is a varied landscape with steep ravines and rolling forest slopes. There is a unique and fantastically beautiful nature.

Starting location: Just above Säterdalen folk park in Säter municipality. See directions. Length: 6 km. Difficulty: Easy. Description: Säterdalen is a half-mile long ravine system with a completely unique nature. Here you will find Barnens dal - a playground for children of all ages, fishing, climbing frames, large slides, as well as the Dalstugan with a cafe and catering during the summer, Säter's folk park with events all year round and nice hiking trails. The best way to experience the valley is to hike on the path that runs along the banks of Ljusterån. Parking at Gruvplan. Part of the trail, Norddalen, is suitable for wheelchairs and prams. Start from the entrance at Norddalen. The trail between Norddalen and Almbacken is accessible. Here you can get around with a wheelchair, pram and even if you are visually impaired. At Almbacken there is a barbecue cabin with a fireplace and tables and benches under a roof. At the parking lot there is an accessible dry dock. Follow the footpath towards the shack, and directions towards Prins Gabriel's resting place. At the rest area you can have a barbecue.
